SAPS rescue 14 workers locked in factory and forced to make masks
Consumer complaints against a Durban business led to a raid of a mask factory in Glen Anil
where South African Police Service (SAPS) officers found 14 workers confined in an apparent forced labour scenario.
The workers say that the owners of the factory, who are reported to be Chinese nationals, locked them in the facility and forced them to make masks.
The rescued workers owe their freedom to members of the public who laid complaints against the company Chen Lu for possible price gouging.
